Bye Bye Etsy

Happy New Year and Welcome to 2025!!!  Today I officially say goodbye to all three of my Etsy shops.  And not necessarily by choice.  Here’s the back story…

I opened Derwood’s Vault on Etsy in October of 2023 and I was admittedly all over the place.  It was a print on demand store selling tumblers, tshirts, digital downloads, wall art, shower curtains and more.  Then I launched DerwoodsPrintables where you could buy Christmas lists, Santa nice and naughty lists, sexual favors coupons, digital journals and more.

After launching, both I decided to create a women’s shop on Etsy and its own website.  I got a little crazy with it selling tshirts, sweatshirts, bikinis, thongs…the list goes on and on.  Well somewhere in there I infringed on someone else’s IP unbeknownst to me.  I couldn’t figure out what I infringed but I kept going.  Etsy hit me with a warning which I didn’t appreciate so I fired back and appealed.  They warned me again and I thought I was above their rules so I kept posting…well in September 2024 they permanently banned that shop.

In between this I launched a home decor shop that had a tumbler on it with a Starbucks logo.  It was actually a skeleton of the mermaid but it was infringement.  I knew it and they hit that shop (CAC Design) with infringement.  I knew I was on their radar.  It was just a matter of time…

Well on New Years Eve I decided to change the name of DerwoodsVault to DesignsXDarren to give the Etsy shop a more handmade feel.  That caught Etsy’s attention.  They did some research into me and found that I was the owner of the banned ChicPanonrama shop which was permanently banned.

And now all of my shops and I are banned.

It sucked when I discovered it today on New Years Day because I was really focused on making Etsy a success in 2025.  I was prepared to dig in…so now I’m digging into my personal sites and shops.

The goal is to make this site a success.  I’m planning on launching a digital download shop at some point in 2025 that will feature digital journals, activity sheets, coupons and so much more.  My home decor products are up on Amazon and I’m planning to add more while potentially launching a standalone site.
